Gary Bigeni Pop-Up Store Launch

Gary’s pop-up store launch tonight was lots of fun with the stylist, media and design fraternity supporting the designer’s store launch. It was great to learn of how the designs came about. They are fresh, colourful and fun, like the Gary Bigeni team and guests. And there were some block colour designs in the classic flowy Gary style.

30 Days of Fashion & Beauty Launch Party

What a special night Bauer Media (formerly Australian Consolidated Press) held yesterday evening at Sydney Town Hall for the launch of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty. Top models, celebrities, elite media identities and other VIPs were all looking stylish. A pink-lit platform set the scene and created the hue for the pink with a bit of diamonds theme. It marked the start of the Shop Til You Drop season.

012Delta Goodrem performing the Olivia Newton-John hit Xanadu wowed the crowd.

30 Days of Fashion ambassador Jesinta Campbell, Jodi Anasta, Kate Waterhouse, Terry Biviano sporting a baby bump, Laura Csortan, and Jo Casamento also looked stunning.

Bulgari Fall-Winter 2013 Accessories Collection Launch

Tonight’s Bulgari Fall-Winter Accessories Collection Launch champagne cocktail party was the place to be. Edwina McCann, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Australia, shared with the VIP guests wonderful insights into the lengths the luxury jewellery brand goes to embellishing its designs to create exquisite pieces, and the on-trend inspirations behind the handbag and jewellery designs. In particular, Rome and craft were themes in the handbag designs some of which were by Isabella Rossellini, and how in earlier times serpentine designs were religiously worn by particular celebrities, which now feature extensively in the style-rich Bulgari range.

We were treated to Louis Roederer champagne and canapés by Aria Catering including prawn cocktails with roe, pea risotto, beef and mushroom pies, and lots more. Then came desserts of Opera cake crested with gold leaf, and raspberry jelly squares. We were spoiled with variety and were definitely satiated.

Inaugural Tequila Blu Blue Party

The Tequila Blu Blue Party at the Rolling Stone Pop-Up Bar was on fire last night - and in more ways than one. Name This Bar, the usual name of the venue was lit up in a way never seen before. The flamed bottle twirling and show using Tequila Blu bottles and tequila made for great entertainment.

The tequila was the best I have ever tasted - in shots and in cocktails. The tequila cocktails of the night were Vanilla Jamberoo, Passionfruit Daiquiri and Strawberry Cooler. I was hooked on the Daiquiris.

Artists painted three large canvases on the night that were auctioned off. The artworks were one of Kurt Cobain and two of Nirvana. Very befitting for a Rolling Stones bar.

A hot party indeed, pardon the pun.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney Opening Night

What a night the Festival launch was!

006 007Attendees enjoying themselves at the Town Hall Hub following the MBFWA Trends Gala

The General Pants Co. show rocked the Town Hall with a mixing of old and new tunes that got us bopping in our seats whilst watching the latest street-wear threads. Have to say that the sequined black t-shirts and shorts by Daan looked flash. Other top labels showcased included Stussy and Vision. Models Bambi Northwood-Blyth looked gorgeous as did other top models Sarah Pauley who we got to chat with backstage and Megan Irwin who we chatted with in the Hub.

A cheerleading show danced to a reworked Daphne & Celeste song You’re Ugly was sensational to close the show followed by a parade of a mix of the showcased designs.

We are very excited about the remaining shows of the Festival which will include MBFWA Trends, InStyle Red Carpet Runway, Market HQ and Kardashian Kollection shows.
