The Maltesers Moonlight Cinema held a preview screening last night to celebrate the return of the outdoor cinema for summer 2013/14 at the Belvedere Amphitheatre in Centennial Park, Sydney. What a fantastic location and venue that has a massive movie screen. We loved the Gold Grass section that came with bean beds and champagne on arrival. And you could have food, drinks and nibbles delivered to your bed. The movie Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was hilarious.
Expected celebrities to attend the preview were famous Big Brother contestant Tully Smyth, actresses Ada Nicodemou, Tammy MacIntosh, Jolene Anderson and Mia Morrissey, Home & Away’s Rhiannon Fish, Charlotte Best and Jordan Rodrigues, singer and X Factor 2011 winner Reece Mastin, The Faders’ Suhana Lye, music and television entertainment presenter Penne Dennison, actor Bardiya McKinnon, Ready Steady Cook host Pete Everett, Nine Network’s Today show sports presenter and 2GB drive presenter Ben Fordham, TV personality Melissa Doyle, radio personality and television presenter Marc Fennell, co-host of Channel 7′s The Daily Edition Sally Obermeder, and Ten’s Weird News girl Tess Woolcock.

It is such an fun way to see movies with many people making a picnic of it. And with the great line-up of films to see, we will happily be going again and again.
Tonight was the Sydney premiere of American Hustle at Event Cinemas on George Street. The dress code was retro glamour. We saw plenty of late-70s style with women wearing jumpsuits, some glittering, some black and some crocheted. Guys had their shirts unbuttoned way down their chests with their neck chains hanging out, and of course, obligatory wearing sunglasses indoors.
Champagne and wine was a great start to the premiere. There was a lot of anticipation about the film and it exceeded expectations. Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, and Jeremy Renner were outstanding and pulled off the style of the era exceptionally. And the movie kept us in suspense.
